iOS Recovering From Black Screen
What Causes a Black Screen on iOS Devices?

• Hardware Issue
- Battery connector issues may arise as a device ages. Faulty battery connectors may impede the device from charging or receiving power.
- Dislodged screen cables inside the device will present a black screen even when the device itself is otherwise fully-functional. Attempt to determine if the device is still working by connecting it to a PC.
- A damaged motherboard may cause booting failure. Serious damage to hardware may render the device irrecoverable.
• Application or Software
- Applications may crash and cause a state in which the device screen is black yet the operating system itself has not crashed yet. A device reset should fix these issues.
- Jailbreak tweaks may cause issues with regular device operation.
• Booting or Firmware
- Corrupt operating system firmware may halt startup operations.
- Bootup flags may be set incorrectly especially after a device update, downgrade, or reset.
- Device may be in DFU mode
